Ezekiel 30:10

Ezekiel 30:10 says, Thus saith the Lord God; I will also make the multitude of Egypt to cease by the hand of Nebuchadrezzar king of Babylon.  God not only told the people of Egypt that they were going to fall, but He also told them who was going to defeat them. Nebuchadnezzar, the king of Babylon, was going to defeat them.  We don’t have to worry about what nation is going to destroy us today, because God has already told us that when the time is right, He is going to destroy us.  The world as we know it with all its sin and false gods will come to an end.

Verse eleven adds. He and his people with him, the terrible of the nations, shall be brought to destroy the land: and they shall draw their swords against Egypt, and fill the land with the slain.  God said that Nebuchadnezzar and his army were going to destroy Egypt with the sword or defeat them on the battlefield in other words.  There may be times when nations are defeated on the battlefield today, but in terms of everlasting victory, this is not what is important.  God has already pronounced everlasting victory for those who put their faith in Him and everlasting defeat for those who don’tand He is the One to bring about both.

Verse twelve continues, And I will make the rivers dry, and sell the land into the hand of the wicked: and I will make the land waste, and all that is therein, by the hand of strangers: I the Lord have spoken it.  God said He was going to lay waste the land giving it to a nation that was also wicked At times, one wicked nation, a nation that does not believe in God, may defeat another nation that does not, but one day, both will be defeated by God, and they will then know that He alone is God and is in charge of everything.

Verse thirteen concludes, Thus saith the Lord God; I will also destroy the idols, and I will cause their images to cease out of Noph; and there shall be no more a prince of the land of Egypt: and I will put a fear in the land of Egypt.  God said He was going to destroy the idols of Egypt as well as their princes.  Anyone or anything that we put our faith in other than God will one day be destroyed by God.
